Job Overview

The RWJBarnabas Corporate Payroll supports an employee base of more than 40,000 employees.The Payroll Records Technician is responsible for monitoring all tasks and initiatives necessary to accomplish the organization s payroll processing objectives. This role is responsible for the processing of all tasks related to the finalization of the payroll period processes. The Payroll Records Technician ensures the payroll function are following company policies and procedures, wage & hour laws, Federal Labor Standards Act, and other applicable requirements.

Qualifications

Required:

High School Diploma required 

Working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel

Working experience of federal, state, and local tax practices

Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management and external vendors

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Must be able to adhere to confidentiality standards and professional boundaries at all times

Preferred:

5+ years of experience with PeopleSoft

Prior experience in a hospital or related industry experience is a plus

Previous experience with tax and vendor updates within a large payroll system

Scheduling Requirements:

Hybrid working schedule: In office 1 day per week (Oceanport, NJ); remote 4 days per week, subject to change 

Working schedule: M-F 8A to 430P

Essential Job Functions

Confirm on cycle payrolls and off cycle checks/reversalsProcess on cycle and off cycle direct deposits and positive pay filesReconcile ACH/Positive Pay reports against Peoplesoft reportsRun the Employment Tax and Wage Payment in ADPProcess General Ledger files and Labor Distribution reports by company for biweekly transmission to the Finance FSCM systemProcess the General Ledger Monthly Leave files, by company, for FinanceProcess the Bank Recon monthly for FinanceProcess and balance weekly outbound files transmitted to our carriers or other in-house systemsProcess and balance Garnishment reports biweekly and submit invoices/credit advises to Treasury for paymentRun the process to create the paystubs in PDF formatProcess and balance files to transmit employee Fidelity data, etc. to the benefit administratorsCorrect rejected transactions to meet the funding deadlinesRetrieve and process files from vendors to update employee recordsReview the reports, research rejected transactions, make corrections and/or report any issuesDistribute vendor reportsMonitor the payroll mailboxSort/distribute mail, print and mail off cycle checksManage Third Party Sick from the State of New JerseyRecord and balance Employee and Employer payments, upload into the payroll system, and reconcile at year end for W2 processingManage ADP Garnishments, year end transfers, upload court orders, research issues and make correctionsAttend garnishment related meetings with ADPParticipate in company projects as assignedAssume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
