Minor Hotels is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Brisbane Head Office team on a Part Time 30 hours per week fixed-term contract. This role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely and compliant end-to-end payroll processing across a portfolio of properties, while providing high-level customer service and support to employees and leaders.
Reporting to the Group Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring payroll accuracy, legislative compliance and continuous process improvement within a high-volume, multi-site environment.
Responsibilities Include:
End-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll across a portfolio of propertiesManaging Workers Compensation payments, Paid Parental Leave (Services Australia), and Child Support obligations (where applicable)Maintaining payroll and leave systems, ensuring accurate employee recordsInterpreting awards, enterprise agreements and contracts, including overtime and shift allowancesProcessing new starters, variations, increases, back pays and termination paymentsCalculating and reconciling annual leave and long service leave accrualsAssisting with month-end reporting, payroll tax, reconciliations and General Ledger balancingPreparing internal and statutory payroll reportingResponding to payroll-related queries from employees and managersSupporting payroll compliance, audits and ad hoc projects as requiredQualificationsTo be successful in this role you will have:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in high-volume payroll processing (essential)Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards and compliance requirementsExperience with Workers Compensation (preferred but not essential)Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy and urgencyHigh attention to detail and strong reconciliation skillsAbility to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organisational and problem-solving abilitiesAdditional InformationJoin our positive and vibrant team and be rewarded with these team benefits:
