We’re looking for a Payroll Manager who’s ready to do more than just run payroll. This is a chance to take the reins and own our multi-country function across Australia, New Zealand (and more), leading a talented team and making sure every pay run is spot-on, compliant, and seamless.
But here’s the real opportunity: you won’t just manage payroll, you’ll shape it. From building stronger processes and driving automation to partnering with HR, Finance, and external providers – you’ll create a payroll function that’s efficient, future-ready, and a trusted part of the employee experience.
If you’re a payroll leader who thrives on accuracy, loves solving problems, and gets a kick out of helping teams perform at their best, this role puts you right at the centre of it all.
What you’ll do
Lead and mentor a high-performing payroll team. Oversee accurate, compliant payroll across multiple countries. Ensure payroll tax, superannuation, and Fair Work obligations are watertight. Streamline and automate processes to improve efficiency. Act as the go-to expert for payroll queries, compliance, and audits. Build strong relationships with HR, Finance, Technology, and vendors. Identify and deliver continuous improvements to enhance service delivery.What you’ll bring
Significant payroll operations experience, including 1-2+ years in a leadership role. Proven success managing payroll across multiple jurisdictions (Australia and NZ essential). Strong grasp of legislation, Awards, PAYG, superannuation, and compliance requirements. Excellent stakeholder management skills – confident, clear, and influential. A leadership style that develops and motivates people. Ability and drive to work at pace and lead change A mindset for improvement – someone who thrives on making systems and processes better.Nice to have
Hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll systems such as Workday or TMF. Previous involvement in payroll projects, system implementations, or major upgrades. Experience managing outsourced/co-sourced payroll provider relationships.
