Description We are looking for a highly skilled Payroll Manager to handle payroll operations for a workforce of fewer than 500 employees across multiple states. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in multi-state payroll compliance and experience in managing payroll in diverse work environments. The ideal candidate will be proficient in UKG Ready systems and capable of ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while adhering to all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and process payroll for employees across various states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Stay informed on multi-state payroll laws, tax codes, wage garnishments, and union-related guidelines.
• Utilize UKG Ready software for payroll tasks, including data entry, reporting, troubleshooting, and conducting system audits.
• Administer payroll deductions for benefits, retirement plans, and other voluntary or mandatory contributions.
• Address and resolve employee payroll inquiries, discrepancies, and troubleshooting concerns promptly.
• Prepare and submit statutory payroll reports, such as tax filings, quarterly wage reports, and W-2 audits, ensuring compliance with government regulations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and implement improvements for enhanced accuracy and efficiency. Requirements
• 5 + years of experience in payroll processing, with a focus on multi-state environments.
• Previous experience working in blue-collar industries such as manufacturing, construction, or trade sectors.
• Proficiency in UKG Ready payroll systems and related functionalities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, tax compliance, and labor laws.
• Strong communication skills to effectively address employee concerns and collaborate with internal teams.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to securely handle sensitive payroll information.
• Familiarity with benefits administration, including 401(k) contributions and other payroll-related deductions.
