We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Payroll Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Accounting and Finance team, along with other key cross-functional business partners, to lead and manage all aspects of global payroll operations for our rapidly growing company. This role requires driving timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processes while continuously improving our international payroll system.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure accurate and timely payroll runs for all countries, including the USA, Vietnam, and the UK, in compliance with local tax and labor regulations.Drive cross-functional collaboration with the People and Total Rewards teams for ongoing operations and excellence projects.Ensure seamless integration with ancillary systems, including SAP ERP.Manage internal and external payroll audits, and assist in statutory financial reporting and audits.Manage relationships with external payroll providers in all jurisdictions.Audit payroll data to ensure accurate wages, tax withholdings, deductions, and garnishments.Document and enforce internal controls in compliance with SOX procedures.Lead special projects, including process documentation, improvements, system updates, and integrations.Develop and report on key metrics for the payroll function.Support management on ad hoc and growth-oriented projects such as scalability initiatives and acquisitions.Essential SkillsAt least 3 years of experience with high-volume payroll (200+ employees).Proficiency in payroll processing and payroll tax.Experience with ERP software and payroll software, with Rippling being preferred.International payroll experience is preferred.Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.Additional Skills & Qualifications5+ years of experience leading a global payroll function at a public multinational company is preferred.Experience in processing payroll for 200+ employees.Experience in reporting equity transactions and its impact on tax and compliance.Strong analytical skills on income statements and balance sheets.Experience with a large payroll system such as Rippling and/or Crowe.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and G Suite.Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.Resourceful, innovative, with a can-do attitude and attention to detail.Experience with SAP is preferred.Work EnvironmentThis is a 100% fully remote role based in Portland, OR, with the option to work from the Portland office if desired. The position reports to the CFO and requires independent management of payroll operations. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
