Payroll & Benefits Specialist
Join a well-established manufacturing organization in Mississauga, ON as a Payroll & Benefits Specialist, supporting accurate and timely payroll and benefits administration for a large, unionized workforce. This role is ideal for a hands-on payroll professional with 3–4 years of experience who enjoys working closely with HR, collaborating with a payroll team, and continuing to grow their skill set in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is a team-based role — payroll responsibilities are shared.

Why JoinBase Salary 70K TO 80K + profit sharing (after 6-month probation)Please note, Fully On-site Role in Mississauga, ONPermanent opportunity + Health Spending Account + 3 weeks’ vacation+ Comprehensive health & dental benefitsMonday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm (40 hours/week)Key ResponsibilitiesSupport full-cycle bi-weekly payroll processing for a large, multi-site manufacturing workforce (hourly, salaried, and unionized employees) (400 TO 500)Accurately administer payroll elements including shift premiums, overtime, vacation pay, statutory holiday pay, and union deductionsEnsure payroll compliance with provincial and federal legislation, including WSIB, EHT, ROEs, and T4sPartner closely with HR on employee lifecycle changes impacting payroll (new hires, terminations, leaves, vacation accruals)Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional mannerMaintain accurate employee records within ADP Workforce NowAssist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and process documentationAdminister benefits and pension plans, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and monthly reconciliationsCoordinate with benefits providers on employee inquiries, premiums, and renewalsSupport STD and LTD administration in accordance with company policiesPrepare employment letters and verification documents as requestedOccasionally travel to Oakville and Brantford sites as neededWhat We’re Looking For3–4 years of Canadian payroll experience, ideally in manufacturing or a high-volume environmentExperience supporting union payrollHands-on experience with ADP Workforce NowStrong understanding of payroll elements common to manufacturing (shift premiums, vacation pay, overtime)PCP designation (completed or in progress) is an assetIntermediate Excel skillsDetail-oriented, organized, and eager to learnTeam-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across payroll and HRProfessional, discreet approach to handling confidential informationStrong communication and problem-solving skills
