We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our HR Team.
How the Position Works
We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will handle payroll processing for multi-state employees and oversee benefits administration for US employees. You will play a crucial part in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in payroll, liaise with our outsourced Benefits Service provider, work with our broker/consultant to ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities include:
Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 2000 employees across 25 states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state-specific regulations Manage payroll functions for exempt and non-exempt employees, including garnishments and tax filings Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, FSA/HSA, and 401(k) retirement plan Prepare and submit organizational reports related to payroll and benefits Utilize Dayforce (Ceridian) to manage payroll operations and ensure seamless data handling Conduct audits to ensure payroll and benefits accuracy while identifying and resolving discrepancies Collaborate with accounting teams to integrate payroll data into financial reporting Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure compliance Provide support in the design and analysis of employee compensation and benefits plans Provide support in the design and analysis of employee compensation and benefits plans Coordinate and manage open enrollment processes, including communication, system updates and employee support Reconcile benefits invoices and resolve discrepancies with carriersCompensation and Benefits
Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation.
Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $70,000 - $80,000 USD per year.
This role is also eligible to participate in the annual bonus program.

What you need to be successful:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred 3 + years of experience in payroll processing and benefits administration, ideally in a multi-state environment Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and benefit regulations, including FMLA, ACA, COBRA, and ERISA Hands-on experience with Dayforce (Ceridian) or similar payroll/HRIS systems Experience working with third-party benefit brokers, carriers, and service providers Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues proactively Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain benefits and payroll processes to employees at all levels Payroll certification (e.g., FPC, CPP) or benefits certification (e.g., CEBS) a plus
