Payroll & Benefits Specialist
Description A Robert Half client is on the lookout for a proactive and detail-savvy Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join their HR team! This position plays a vital role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and receive the benefits they deserve. Recruiter: Tarryn de Kock What You’ll Be Doing: + Own the end-to-end weekly, biweekly and monthly payroll processes using ADP Workforce Now + Set up new hires, enter pay changes, bonuses, garnishments, and terminations with accurate effective dating + Audit timesheets, identify anomalies, and work with managers to resolve issues before processing + Review payroll previews and finalize batches, ensuring taxes, deductions, and withholdings are compliant and correct + Liaise with ADP to troubleshoot system quirks or improve workflows + Track and report on PTO, leaves, and special payroll events + Maintain payroll records for audits, finance reports, and year-end filings + Guide employees through benefit enrollment, changes, and questions related to medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans + Maintain and update benefits data in ADP WFN to reflect accurate eligibility and deductions + Partner with brokers and vendors during open enrollment periods and ensure smooth transitions + Verify carrier invoices and reconcile with internal records + Coordinate COBRA, FSA/HSA, and 401(k) processes in partnership with third-party administrators + Ensure compliance with ACA and other applicable benefit laws, preparing documentation for 1095-Cs and related filings Requirements What You Bring to the Table: + 3+ years of hands-on payroll and benefits experience, with at least 2 years using ADP Workforce Now + Solid understanding of federal and state wage laws, tax reporting, and benefit regulations + Excellent attention to detail + Outstanding communication and follow-through, especially when answering employee questions + Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion + You enjoy refining processes, keeping things organized, and making life easier for others + Experience working with multi-state or hourly/exempt employee populations + Exposure to open enrollment planning and employee engagement initiatives Perks & Benefits: + Competitive compensation and annual bonus potential $75k -$85k + bonus + Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage + Generous PTO and paid holidays + 401(k) plan with company match + Wellness programs, learning opportunities, and a fun, collaborative work culture TalentMatch® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
