Payroll BackOffice Team Leader

This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business. **The Role** We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll Team Leader to oversee the daily operations of a team of Payroll BackOffice Analysts. This role reports directly to the Payroll Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, mentoring team members, resolving escalated issues, and supporting continuous process improvements. **What You'll Do** + Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Payroll Back-Office Analysts. + Monitor transactions of team and conduct periodic check of the performance of the analysts. + Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions in compliance with the company policies and regulatory requirements. + Review and validate payroll data, reports, and reconciliations prepared by team members. + Serve as the first point of escalation for complex payroll issues and inquiries. + Provide coaching, guidance on operational updates, and performance feedback to team members. + Support the Payroll Supervisor in implementing process improvements and automation initiatives. + Relationship Management: Coordinate closely with other concerned teams within People Services, GBS Finance and Payroll COE, and counterparts in various countries. Initiating meetings with stakeholders and managing projects related to process improvements. Contributing to the implementation of projects relating to quality improvements and service excellence. Representing People Services in programs / activities that require related expertise and decision making. Interacting with internal / external related parties such as but not limited to Business Units, GMAS and SOX Auditors, and HR Representatives. + Maintain documentation of payroll processes. + Ensure adherence to internal payroll controls. + Assist in audits and ensure compliance with US and Canada labor laws and tax regulations. + Continuous Improvement: Suggest process improvements necessary for operational efficiencies and service excellence to drive quality, speed, and safety.
