Job Description
The Payroll Associate supports the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a multi-location, unionized workforce. This role involves entering, reviewing, reconciling, and maintaining payroll data, responding to employee payroll inquiries, and assisting with required union reporting and recordkeeping. You will work closely with plant personnel, supervisors, and the Payroll team to ensure payroll information is complete, accurate, and properly documented, while adhering to company policies and collective bargaining agreements.
ResponsibilitiesExport and import daily payroll hours and post to the Viewpoint payroll system.Enter, review, and verify daily timecard data for accuracy and completeness.Identify and review timekeeping discrepancies and coordinate corrections with plant personnel or supervisors.Provide backup support for processing payroll groups (PG1, PG4, and PG6), as assigned.Assist with payroll check distributions and disbursements by location.Perform manual data entry for Local 825 crafts into required online systems, including entry of hours and wages.Reconcile manual data entry against Viewpoint payroll records to ensure accuracy.Prepare and submit required union payroll reports, including Craft 50, Craft 52, Craft 56, Craft 58, Craft 750, and Craft 751.Assist with union audits by compiling payroll documentation and supporting materials as requested.Prepare garnishment payments, check requests, and submit payments to appropriate authorities.Respond to employee payroll inquiries and assist in resolving routine payroll issues.Monitor and respond to payroll-related emails and telephone inquiries in a timely and professional manner.Process employment verifications in accordance with company procedures.Scan payroll records including garnishments, union reports, and employee payroll documents to shared drives.Organize, sort, and maintain payroll files and records to ensure compliance with record retention policies.Record accurate notes and meeting minutes for payroll meetings, as assigned.Perform other related duties and special assignments as directed.Assist with yearly salary changes and bonus payments.Essential Skills0-1 years of data entry, payroll, or accounting experience.Experience with Excel and data entry.High school diploma or equivalent required.1–2 years of payroll, accounting, or administrative experience, preferably in a multi-location or unionized environment.Experience with payroll systems and timekeeping platforms preferred (e.g., Viewpoint).Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Basic understanding of payroll processes, including timekeeping, deductions, and garnishments.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Work Environment
The position begins on a part-time basis until permanent, transitioning to 40 hours per week. You will be onsite three days a week, specifically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with hours from either 8-4 or 9-5. The work environment is collaborative, and you will work closely with colleagues in a supportive setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
