Job Title: Payroll and Benefits Administrator Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in processing payroll for multiple companies, ranging from 250 to 30 employees, both hourly and salaried. As a liaison between employees and our third-party payroll provider, you will ensure the smooth operation of payroll and benefits administration. Responsibilities + Accurately and timely process bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees across multiple entities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. + Maintain payroll-specific records, including wage changes, deductions, new hires, terminations, and leaves of absence. + Process year-end T4 and T4A slips for the company. + Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure accurate processing of new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and incentive pay. + Maintain employee records in payroll, HRIS, and ERP systems, including benefit elections, terminations, and attendance. + Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and managers, maintaining confidentiality in compliance with the Privacy Act. + Administer and manage the time and attendance system, ensuring accurate tracking of employee work hours, PTO, sick leave, and overtime. + Generate and distribute time and attendance reports to supervisors and managers. + Train employees and managers on the time and attendance system usage and provide support as needed. + Administer employee benefits programs, acting as a liaison between employees and benefits providers. + Support benefits communication and education initiatives for employees. + Generate standard reports and submit monthly reports as directed. + Provide support to HR and other departments on payroll, attendance management, and benefits-related matters. Essential Skills + End-to-end payroll processing experience, including creating reports, ROE, T4, and ensuring compliance. + Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements. + Experience in administering employee benefits, including health, retirement, and leave policies. + Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP or Ceridian. + High accuracy and attention to detail to minimize errors. + Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity with sensitive employee data. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in multi-province payroll processing. + Advanced Excel reporting skills. + Payroll certifications such as PCP. + Experience working in a Shared Services environment. + Familiarity with Ceridian Power Pay and ADP systems. Work Environment This is a 100% in-office position, operating Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM with some flexibility. You will be responsible for processing payroll for approximately 200 employees and must be adaptable to take on additional tasks beyond payroll, including compliance and exposure to operations and finance. The role requires wearing multiple hats and supporting supervisors with timesheet approvals and coordinating with third-party services. - - We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
