Payroll and Accounting Specialist
Description Robert Half is currently recruiting for a meticulous Payroll and Accounting Specialist to join our client's team in Knoxville, Tennessee. In this role, you will handle payroll processing and accounting tasks while ensuring compliance with regulations and accuracy in financial transactions. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Responsibilities: • Process payroll for employees ranging from 101 to 500 individuals, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution. • Manage garnishments and other deductions in compliance with legal requirements. • Perform full-cycle payroll operations using ADP Payroll software. • Reconcile accounts to maintain accurate financial records and resolve discrepancies. • Handle expense reimbursements with precision and adherence to company policies. • Utilize Sage Intacct and Great Plains Accounting systems for accounting tasks. • Address employee inquiries related to payroll and resolve issues promptly. • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure seamless integration of payroll data. • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. • Assist in preparing reports and documentation for audits or financial reviews. A degree in accounting or finance is preferred with 3+ year of payroll experience. The position is 100% onsite during the training period and then will become hybrid. For immediate consideration please contact Lisa Coker at 865-370-2084 to set up an interview Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll and accounting roles. • Proficiency in full-cycle payroll processing and handling payroll for 101-500 employees. • Knowledge of payroll garnishments and related legal requirements. • Experience with ADP Payroll software and other accounting systems such as Sage Intacct and Great Plains. • Strong skills in account reconciliation and resolving financial discrepancies. • Ability to manage expense reimbursements with attention to detail. • Excellent interpersonal skills for handling employee relations and inquiries. • Familiarity with payroll compliance regulations and reporting standards.
