Job Title: Payroll Accountant

Job Description

This role involves assisting the Chief Financial Officer in all phases of accounting as required. Enjoy a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote, with a flexible 4-1/2 day work week option.

Responsibilities

Manage all facets of the Payroll and Job Cost System, including time sheets, payroll deductions, payroll checks, labor distribution, budget reports, and miscellaneous costs.Oversee federal withholding, FUTA, and SUTA tax returns and payments.Handle all aspects of the Accounts Payable System, including purchase orders, invoices, coding, posting, payments, and reconciliations.Process sub-consultant billings and reconcile consultant agreements to payments.Manage all facets of the Accounts Receivable System, including billings, posting, rebilling, and interpreting contracts for billing purposes.Submit Tax Clearance and other contractual requirements for State, City, and Federal projects.Complete Lien Waivers as required.Oversee Petty Cash Fund distribution, replenishment, recording, and reconciliations.Administer insurance responsibilities, including health insurance, TDI, Long Term Disability, and Life Insurance.Assist with project accounting as needed.

Essential Skills

Expertise in payroll, accounting, reconciliation, payroll processing, payroll accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Proficiency in using Deltek, general ledger, and other accounting software.General knowledge of project accounting and accounting procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associate degree (A.A.) in accounting from a two-year college or technical school preferred.Minimum of 3 years of overall accounting/bookkeeping experience with 2 years of direct payroll experience.Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.92 - $29.80/hr.
