JOB SUMMARY           The Payroll Analyst contributes to the development and administration of payroll business process system changes that automate and scale our operations. This position requires technical skills to understand and maintain the functional side of payroll operational platforms. In this role, duties include optimizing the usage of our payroll reporting, understanding our data, helping to design payroll processes, and preparing recommendations based on business needs. The Payroll Analyst is comfortable in both the technical and project management realm and can easily partner with our numerous stakeholders to deliver meaningful changes in a fast-paced growth environment.     JOB DUTIES Prepare business requirements for new payroll calculations and validate changes to federal, state, and local payroll controls Contribute to the production of business analysis stories, testing plans As part of a multi-disciplinary team, contribute to research, design, and documentation of system utilities and features that promote timely and accurate production of payroll transactions Remain current on legislation and laws impacting payroll Provide ideas and solutions to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of payroll processes Be a go-to person internally for payroll system readiness with quarterly tax filings, W-2 processes, and annual reconciliation Monitor and maintain payroll software upgrades, and ensure feature updates are tested across all payroll companies before release Assist with the design and execution of internal controls surrounding the accuracy of payroll and tax calculations and make regular reports to management Support tax team during quarterly and year end processes Other duties as needed   QUALIFICATIONS 3-5 years of experience with automated high-volume payroll processing, and payroll system upgrades preferred Experience with ADP MasterTax, Dynamics Solomon, Workday, or equivalent systems preferred Strong analytical skills, knowledge of state and federal laws and compliance Experience with full-time remote work preferred Must be able to successfully pass a background screening If remote or hybrid, must have a reliable internet service Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing work environment, while leading multiple priorities Ability to model a performance culture at all levels within the operation that is positive, collaborative, respectful, innovative, dynamic, and capable of supporting rapid growth and scale Displays the highest levels of integrity, honesty, respect, and sound judgment always Displays and models behaviors and work ethic that inspire others and demonstrates consistency in producing results that support the business goals   The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle, or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift 20 pounds.
