Payroll Administrator
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team in Birmingham, Michigan. This role requires expertise in managing complex payroll processes, ensuring compliance with labor regulations, and maintaining accurate systems and records. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of payroll operations, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to resolve issues efficiently. Responsibilities: • Process and manage payroll for employees, ensuring accurate calculations of hours, earnings, deductions, and garnishments. • Handle payroll-related tasks such as terminations, final checks, and 401(k) contributions. • Prepare and submit reports to meet compliance requirements and ensure regulatory adherence. • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve discrepancies promptly. • Update and maintain employee records within payroll systems, including ADP Workforce Now and JD Edwards. • Conduct audits and reconcile payroll data with general ledger systems to maintain accuracy. • Apply payroll entries following accounting standards and organizational policies. • Monitor compliance with labor laws and internal payroll procedures. • Identify and resolve system-related issues while contributing to process improvements. • Provide timely and effective support to field offices for payroll-related concerns. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field. • At least two years of experience in payroll administration. • Proficiency in managing full-cycle payroll processes, including multi-state payroll. • Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now and JD Edwards. • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. • Excellent communication skills to address employee concerns and collaborate with team members. • Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor compliance. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and data management.
