Working within the dynamic People Hub, you’ll play a\r\nkey role in upholding service excellence, driving operational efficiency, and\r\nensuring every detail counts—because behind every payslip is a person who\r\ndepends on it.
Our HR operations function will be moving into our Newcastle\r\noffice in the coming months. That means you’ll be based onsite at our Newcastle\r\noffice three days a week (Tuesday to Thursday), with the flexibility to work\r\nfrom home on the remaining days. During the initial training period, occasional\r\ntravel to our Stockton office may be required.
What you'll be doing:
Process\r\n and administer end-to-end payroll operations for approximately 7,000\r\n employees, including BACS creation.Optimally\r\n cover all payroll tasks for a designated business area, which includes\r\n starters, leavers, changes, and ad-hoc payments and deductions.Administer\r\n various pension schemes such as NHS, My Civil Service Pension, LGPS, and\r\n other defined benefit/contribution plans.Carry\r\n out timely and accurate processing of auto-enrolment and pension\r\n contribution changes in line with regulations.Make\r\n sure all company benefit data is calculated and processed correctly which\r\n includes payments of holiday pay and a wide range of flexible benefits\r\n across salary sacrifice and non-salary sacrifice schemes.Handle\r\n statutory payments and absence data in accordance with HMRC guidelines.Deliver\r\n proactive customer service and resolve payroll queries raised via the HR\r\n case management system.Support\r\n payroll-related projects and tasks, including TUPE transfers and issuing\r\n formal letters.What you’ll bring:
Proven\r\n experience handling large-scale payroll processing with multiple demands.Solid\r\n understanding of payroll and pension procedures, including current\r\n statutory regulations (e.g. Tax, NI, Mat Pay).Proficient\r\n in MS Office, especially Excel, and experienced with payroll systems and\r\n reporting tools.Strong\r\n communication skills and confidence engaging with collaborators at all\r\n levels.Customer-focused\r\n approach with experience in service-oriented roles.Collaborative\r\n teammate with a supportive approach.Excellent\r\n time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.High\r\n numeracy and literacy skills (minimum A/B GCSE level).If you are interested in this role but not sure if your\r\nskills and experience are exactly what we’re looking for, please do apply, we’d\r\nlove to hear from you!
