Payroll Administrator
Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to handle payroll and benefits for a workforce of over 300 employees, including union and non-union staff. This role is vital to ensuring accurate payroll processing and seamless benefits administration while maintaining compliance with policies and regulations. Responsibilities: • Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring adherence to organizational policies, labor agreements, and relevant regulations. • Apply collective bargaining agreements to calculate union deductions, benefits, and other payroll adjustments. • Oversee employee benefits programs, including enrollment, updates, and compliance with legal requirements. • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and benefits in a timely and meticulous manner. • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data integrity within payroll systems. • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure smooth payroll and benefits operations. • Generate and review reports for payroll audits, compliance checks, and financial reconciliation. • Stay updated on changes in labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance. • Troubleshoot payroll system issues and recommend improvements to optimize processes. • Provide support during system upgrades or transitions, focusing on payroll-related functions. Requirements • Proven experience managing payroll and benefits administration for large teams, including unionized employees. • Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, or similar platforms. • Strong understanding of labor contracts and collective bargaining agreements. • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive payroll and benefits data. • Excellent communication skills to address employee questions and collaborate with internal teams. • Familiarity with accounting software and reporting tools such as Crystal Reports. • Knowledge of 401(k) administration and other retirement plans. • Ability to adapt to evolving processes and maintain compliance with payroll regulations.
