Description
We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our team in Kent, Washington. In this role, you will oversee payroll operations for multiple companies and states, while also managing general ledger tasks and reporting. This position offers a unique opportunity to balance payroll duties with broader accounting responsibilities, contributing to the financial success of our organization.
Responsibilities:
• Process semi-monthly, full-cycle payroll for over 200 employees across multiple states using Paylocity.
• Verify and ensure the accuracy of timecards, earnings, deductions, and holiday pay.
• Manage benefit deductions for new hires and update employee benefits promptly.
• Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and ensure timely tax payments.
• Handle quarterly and year-end payroll tasks, including W-2 preparation, 401k match calculations, and merit verifications.
• Calculate and process various bonuses, such as production, referral, and year-end incentives.
• Collaborate with HR to address garnishments, employee benefits, and other payroll-related matters.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline payroll and accounting operations.
• Assist with monthly and annual close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Hourly Pay and Benefits:
The hourly pay for this position is $36-$41/hour, eligible for overtime. Benefits for this position include Medical/Dental/Vision insurances, participation in the company's 401k w/ a match, profit sharing, 52 hours of PTO in the first year, WA State sick time, and 7 paid holidays.
Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, or 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proven expertise in payroll processing, including handling multi-state payrolls.
• Familiarity with cost accounting principles or a strong interest in learning them.
• Proficiency in Paylocity and other accounting software systems.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to organize and analyze data effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Proactive problem-solving abilities and a drive to improve processes and systems.
