Johnson Service Group is looking for a Payroll Specialist for one of our Client’s in San Jose. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll transactions, managing timesheets, and handling garnishments, stipends, and union dues within the Infor Payroll System.  Job Duties: Process vendor invoices in accordance with AP policies and procedures accurately and timely Reconcile vendor statements, investigate and resolve discrepancies Respond to AP related inquiries from vendors and employees Process and review credit card transactions for accuracy and proper coding Perform filing and archiving of backup documentation Perform related duties as assigned Provide support to accountants Required Skills and Qualifications: working knowledge of basic accounting principles and some government accounting ability to produce work with a high level of accuracy proficient in computers and excel communicates clearly and concisely organized and able to meet deadlines willing to learn and be a team player flexible and able to take on a variety of tasks to meet department needs Works well with customers (internal and external) including with vendors in resolving AP billing inquiries experience with ERP Education and Training: Equivalent to completion of high school (12th grade) supplemented by twelve (12) semester units of college-level coursework in accounting, business administration, or a related field. Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in processing and maintaining accounting records, particularly in accounts payable, payroll, or general ledger support. License or Certification: Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid California driver’s license. Rate: $35.78 full-time 6 month contract
