Pattern Cutter - Womenswear

Job Description

As a Pattern Cutter at COS you will be responsible for creating and delivering accurate patterns that follow the design vision and meet the intended fit of our customer. In this role you will work closely with Design, Buying and Production teams to deliver finished patterns. 

What you will do: 

Collaborate with the design team through drape, manual pattern cutting, digital pattern cutting, Clo 3D prototyping and toiling. Create accurate patterns, using your knowledge of fabrics, fusings, interlinings and construction techniques. Guide fittings from a technical perspective, sharing your knowledge to problem solve and communicate the correct type of amendment. Use Lectra or Gerber to amend your digital patterns, carefully following the company best practice rules. Follow your patterns through from first prototype to final sign off. Work within our PLM system to upload patterns, add clear comments and communicate with the global production teams. Attend all handovers for new sketches and take detailed notes. Maintain various product trackers and ensure priority requests are followed and work is always delivered on time, clearly communicating any potential delays. Work with our standard measurement lists, ensuring company fit is always maintained and consistent. Support other team members and departments with their workload during busy periods. Guide, involve and inspire Junior and Assistant Pattern Cutters within the team and help to prioritise their work. Understand the customer: participate in sales meetings, monthly returns meetings and customer workshops to keep in touch with the evolving customer. Support grading updates seasonally following feedback from various sources.

In addition to our values for this role, we are also looking for: 

Extensive experience working as a multi-product pattern cutter with a focus on Womenswear (luxury background beneficial) Manual and CAD experience essential, Lectra or Gerber preferred. Strong technical knowledge of garment construction. Skilled at draping on the stand to create volumes and proportions. Confident making accurate patterns to tight deadlines. Ability to identify problems and take responsibility to find solutions. A proactive and assertive way of working. Genuine interest and passion for the COS brand  An excellent eye for cut, shape and detail.

This is a full time permanent contract based at our Head Office in London.
