As a Patient Van Driver, you will transport passengers between their homes and the hospital, helping them gain access to the care and support they need from Cleveland Clinic. Your ability to offer empathy, compassion and patience can make a lasting difference in their lives every day. 

 

A caregiver in this position works, days from 8:00AM – 4:00PM.   

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Transport patients, volunteers and others between their private residence and the hospital, medical offices and/or surgical/medical centers.  

Perform special transport.  

Maintain an assigned vehicle, including keeping the vehicle clean and in good working order. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

High School Diploma/GED 

Valid Ohio Driver's License (VDL) with no more than four points 

Can safely operate and perform routine maintenance inspections on a passenger van 

Can interpret and follow maps 

Can to read, write and speak English fluently 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Experience in the transportation industry

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

Ability to travel throughout the Cleveland Clinic health system

Ability to travel to locations outside of the Cleveland Clinic health system

Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

Ability to move patients•Ability to assist patients, visitors and caregivers in wheelchairs in getting into and out of vehicles

Ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds (lbs.)

Ability to drive

Ability to inspect equipment

Ability to clean, operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products
