Job Title: Patient Support Program (PSP) Manager
Location: Gauteng, South Africa (supporting projects across English-speaking African markets)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Patient Support Program (PSP) Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end operational, quality, and compliance oversight of patient support programs across multiple African countries.
This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, compliant program delivery, effective team leadership, strong client engagement, and insightful reporting, all contributing to improved patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Operational Management
Lead and manage patient support programs across multiple therapeutic areas and countriesEnsure delivery aligns with scope, timelines, budgets, and contractual commitmentsDrive continuous improvement through performance monitoring and operational insightsClinical & Field Nurse Support
Provide guidance and oversight to Field Nurses and program teamsAct as escalation point for complex clinical, patient, or operational mattersMaintain a strong understanding of the clinical landscape and patient journeyKPI Reporting & Client Management
Develop and present monthly KPI and performance reportsMonitor SLAs, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendationsBuild and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted partnerContract Management Support
Support preparation and review of contract addendumsEnsure contracts remain updated and aligned with current program requirementsQuality, Compliance & Audit
Oversee quality management, including risk management, issue tracking, and CAPAsEnsure full compliance with SOPs, regulatory requirements, and data privacy standardsSupport internal audits, including preparation, documentation, and follow-up actionsPharmacovigilance
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of adverse events and product complaintsSupport training and compliance in pharmacovigilance processesPeople & Team Management (Africa)
Lead, mentor, and develop multi-country teamsSupport recruitment, onboarding, and performance managementFoster a compliant, high-performance cultureSystems, Financial & Reporting
Drive effective use of CRM and case management systemsTrack contracts, deliverables, billing, and budgetsDevelop Excel-based trackers, dashboards, and reportsRequired Skills & Experience
Proven experience managing Patient Support Programs or healthcare programmesStrong clinical understanding, with experience supporting Field NursesExperience in compliance, quality management, pharmacovigilance, and auditsAdvanced Excel and CRM systems proficiencyExperience with contracts, billing, and operational reportingDemonstrated people management experience across multiple countriesStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsPreferred Qualifications
5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences industriesMinimum 2 years’ experience in a people management roleExperience working across African markets and regulated environmentsWhy Join
