Patient Services Operator
Job Title: Patient Services OperatorJob Description As a Patient Services Operator, you will play a crucial role in managing communication within the hospital environment. You will be responsible for efficiently answering and routing inbound calls and messages to medical staff, dispatching clinical messages, and monitoring alarms and codes. Ensuring accurate on-call schedules for departments and physicians will also be a key part of your duties. Responsibilities + Answer incoming calls courteously and direct them accurately to the appropriate department or individual while maintaining an average answer time of 99%. + Page notifications accurately based on the situation/request to the appropriate personnel. + Answer, document, and relay information related to the medical answering service. + Monitor, communicate, and forward information regarding codes, alerts, alarms, and drills according to established policies and protocols, including disaster management plans. + Input and delete account updates/notations as necessary, and alert management to potential customer service issues due to hardware/software deficiencies or protocol changes. + Make independent minor decisions where alternatives are limited, adhering to standard policies and protocols. Essential Skills + Two or more years of customer service experience. + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. + Ability to operate various telecommunications systems effectively. + Capacity to handle highly stressful situations and act decisively and accurately. + Ability to remain friendly, upbeat, and polite under stress. + Proficiency in diffusing tense situations. + Flexibility to work various days, weekends, holidays, and shifts. + Basic knowledge of telephone/computer technology and equipment, including the ASCOM system. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED. + Accurate typing speed of 40 words per minute or higher. + Experience in customer service, patient registration, healthcare, phone operation, dispatch, data entry, call center operations, patient scheduling, administrative support, and medical terminology. Work Environment The role requires working directly with patients, customers, and other healthcare professionals. The position may involve varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, with working hours ranging from early morning to late night, potentially up to 1 am. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $18.00/hr.
