and Geriatric ServicesJob SummaryThe Patient Service Coordinator is responsible for administrative support in a busy medical office setting providing duties from scheduling appointments verifying insurance precertification as well as triaging phone calls from patients providers and insurance companies while maintaining patient and business confidentiality to ensure that the needs of the internal and external customers are met Reports to assigned supervisorResponsibilitiesGreets patients and visitors checks patients in and out and obtains necessary documentation Verifies and enters demographic informationObtains and verifies insurance authorizationprecertification Completes medical record release requests and schedulesconfirms patient appointmentsCollects co payments and reconciles all daily reports and deposits for accuracyProvides general office and clerical support to medical officeUnderstands different insurance carriers and plans Obtains financial information and
