Patient Service Representative

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Service Representative answers all incoming calls to the hospital and routes them to the appropriate locations. He/she also uses the overhead paging system to inform and direct. In the event of a telecommunications disruption, uses and monitors backup systems. Responds and communicates efficiently and accurately to emergency situations, following department and hospital guidelines. Maintains understanding of all emergency procedures when codes and drills occur. Monitors alarms and other equipment for possible malfunction or activation of emergency procedures.


Qualifications

REQUIRED:

This position requires six months of health care experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education in an accredited medical training programCourse work in medical terminology

PREFERRED:
