Patient Service Representative
Description We are looking for a dedicated Patient Service Representative to join our team in Lakewood, WA. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring their experience is welcoming and efficient. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment where your administrative and interpersonal skills will be highly valued. Responsibilities: • Greet and check in patients while ensuring all necessary forms and documentation are completed and updated. • Process referrals, collect copays, and verify insurance information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. • Perform administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing, and handling office equipment with proficiency. • Make reminder calls to patients and assist with scheduling appointments. • Apply sliding fee adjustments to copays and deductibles based on patient eligibility. • Collaborate with billing departments for payment-related inquiries and ensure accurate patient communication. • Balance daily front desk activities, including patient check-ins and administrative work. • Utilize medical terminology and knowledge to support patient services effectively. • Maintain a calm and detail-focused demeanor while multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Requirements • Proven experience in a healthcare front office role, preferably with minimal training required. • Familiarity with medical terminology and patient service practices. • Proficiency in using EMR software like EPIC and NextGen. • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. • Strong interpersonal skills to ensure positive patient interactions. • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy regulations. • Prior experience with insurance referrals and verifications is highly desirable.
