Principal Accountabilities: (including but not limited to)
· Serve as the first point of contact for newly referred oncology patients.
· Coordinate and schedule initial orthopedic oncology consultations, diagnostic procedures, and follow-up appointments.
· Initiate and obtain insurance prior authorizations for oncology-related services (e.g., imaging, procedures, infusions).
· Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse navigators, schedulers, and financial counselors to ensure timely access to care.
· Communicate with patients to review upcoming appointments, documentation needs, and insurance approvals.
· Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
· Monitor scheduling timelines and insurance authorization status to prevent delays in care.
· Identify and escalate barriers to care such as insurance denials, scheduling conflicts, or transportation needs.
