Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours every two weeks (Exempt)
Starting Wage DOE: $26.37 - 32.97
The Patient Financial Services Coordinator II provides leadership to the staff in one or more areas of the Patient Financial Services Department. The position is responsible for supervision of the staff and the daily operations of the Patient Financial Services Department. The Supervisor is responsible for personnel management, orientation and training, and ongoing education for staff. This position ensures compliance to governmental, departmental, and other regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures. The Patient Financial Services Supervisor participates in departmental planning, budgetary compliance, development of policies and procedures, and adherence to quality indicators. The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining information management systems utilized by the Patient Financial Services Department. This position is responsible to act in the absence of the Patient Financial Services Manager.
Essential Job Functions
• Supports and models behaviors consistent with the mission and philosophy of Billings Clinic and Patient Financial Services Department.
• Responsible for directing and coordinating the day-to-day activities for the Patient Financial Services staff, establishing priorities, and assigning workloads.
• Responsible for personnel management including interviewing, hiring, orientation and training, performance appraisal, promotion, counseling, and disciplinary action.
• Conducts regular staff meetings, directs orientation and training of new staff and provides on-going education to staff due to staff needs, regulation changes, upgrades to applications and organizational goals.
• Oversees Systems Analysts in the planning and design of business solutions and resources needed to meet business goals, implementation, and management of system configurations. Maintains applications or information management systems utilized by the department, continually updating files, updating, and training staff. Coordinates with Information Services in the design, update, scheduling, and problem resolution of information systems used by the department.
• Provides input in analyzing needs of the department, participates in budgetary process, and participates in maintaining budgetary compliance.
• Prepares and analyzes reports on the status and efficiency of the department utilizing various reporting tools including report writers and query. Takes corrective actions based on outcome of reports. Reports and analysis may be needed for senior management decision processes.
• Participates in the development and maintenance departmental policies and procedures and process improvement issues.
• Responsible for coordination with outside agencies for collection of outstanding accounts including accounts requiring legal action and testifying in court.
• Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve quality.
• Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
• Maintains competency in organizational, departmental, and outside agency safety standards relevant to job performance.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
• Four (4) Year / Bachelor’s Degree in related field
Experience
• Three (3) years of Billings Clinic patient accounts or health care related experience preferred
• Two (2) years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered
