Aspirus Regional Cancer Center in Wausau, WI is seeking a PATIENT FINANCIAL NAVIGATOR to join our RAD THERAPY ADMINISTRATION  team!

The Patient Financial Navigator is accountable for assisting patients and caregivers to deliver a true advocacy experience that focuses on delivering clear and accurate information about each patient's financial obligations and potential assistance options available in a responsive and proactive manner. The Patient Financial Navigator will work with patients and the insurance company representative to overcome insurance delays, to verify access to secondary insurance networks, as well as patient assistance agencies as necessary to help patients in meeting their financial needs and obligations. 

HOURS: Full-Time or 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every 2 weeks. 

Experience/Qualifications

Associate Degree required, 4 year Bachelor's Degree preferred.Knowledge of medical terminology desired.Greater than 2 years of experience in hospital admissions/patient access, registration, business office, financial counseling and/or insurance related field.Professional demeanor, appearance, and telephone manners are essential.Self-starter with strong analytical and organizational skills.Must have experience with EHR/EMR, Microsoft Outlook, Basic Computer Skills, and Basic Office Equipment.Ability to read and understand insurance terminology, verify insurance coverage quotes and the ability to understand and calculate reimbursement percentages.Ability to complete work with interruptions and time pressures, be accurate and detail-oriented in all work products, and prioritize and meet deadlines.Must have good oral and written communication skills.Expected to work extended hours to meet deadlines, attend meetings, and to cover longer hours of operation as needed.In-depth knowledge of financial counseling process, patient assistance programs, and charity care qualification.Adhere to corporate policies and guidelines for Patient Rights, HIPPA, regulatory and corporate compliance requirements.In-depth knowledge and application of insurance company policies and requirements related to patient financial requirements and obligations.
