About the Role:

The Patient Engagement & Advocacy (PEA) Manager is responsible for providing programmatic and tactical execution across Neurocrine's patient engagement initiatives and programs. This individual-contributor role collaborates with cross-functional teams to support the execution of various patient-centered programs, including advisory councils, and maintain productive relationships with advocacy organizations to advance company objectives.

Your Contributions:

Operationalize Neurocrine's presence at externally facing patient advocacy events including educational events, conferences, walks, and philanthropic outreach across the entire product portfolio and key pipeline assets, ensuring consistent, impactful representation.

Strategically organize and track available corporate opportunities across the full PEA team to maximize impact and value.

Support planning and execution for the Patient and Caregiver Advisory Council meetings and activities, including review of background materials, across multiple disease states.

Conduct comprehensive patient advocacy landscape assessments for emerging development programs, providing strategic insights and recommendations.

Serve as the secondary contact for San Diego-based patient advocacy organizations and lead the coordination of locally sponsored events while strengthening corporate reputation.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical and Commercial departments to support the educational content and other deliverables for distribution via patient advocacy organizations.

Organize ad-hoc projects and priority events such as visits to headquarters from patient advocacy organizations and guest speakers for internal educational programs.

Ensure presence to key national and local advocacy events represent Neurocrine effectively.

Requirements:

BS/BA and 6+ years of relevant experience in patient advocacy, healthcare communications, or related field OR

Master's degree and 4+ years of related experience in patient advocacy, healthcare communications, or related field

Up to 25% travel required

Understands key business drivers and uses this understanding to accomplish work

Has strong understanding of processes, procedures and systems used to accomplish the work and recognizes downstream impact on other functional areas

Excellent communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills

Ability to meet multiple deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency

Strong project management and prioritization skills

Demonstrated understanding of patient advocacy landscape and engagement strategies

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive internal/external working relationships

Experience with patient engagement methodologies and best practices

Strong organizational skills to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority

Knowledge of the biopharmaceutical industry with a passion for representing patient voice

Commitment to the highest ethical standards and ensuring appropriate interactions between independent advocacy organizations and industry

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $130,100.00-$188,550.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
