The Impairment Rating Coordinator follows standard operating procedures associated with the processing of impairment rating referrals, the completion of chart preparations, and the finalization & distribution of jurisdictional examination report forms. This position works alongside other team members in the support of one or two Impairment Rating Doctors in a market.
Responsibilities Process impairment rating referrals from Central ReferralsContact Payor/Adjuster to confirm compensable part of injury and obtains approval for examCoordinates with patient to schedule examCoordinates medical record collection as necessary from outside providers and/or insurance adjustersChart preparation for examining physician per respective physician’s requirementsGreets patients, communicates wait times, and directs them accordinglyChecks patients in appropriate patient management system in accordance with company protocolsExplains all required forms to patients and ensures proper completion of all paperworkChecks out patients in appropriate patient management system according to procedure and distributes records accordingTriage patientsEnter charges and exam results into IT systemFinalizes charges and closes ticket in IT systemEnter exams in respective physician’s log of all exams for future referenceGenerates final reports out of IT system for physician reviewProofread reports and coordinates corrections as necessary before distributionDistributes final reports to appropriate parties in a timely fashionFollows HIPAA guidelines and safety rulesAnswers incoming telephone lines in accordance with company procedures and directs the caller accordinglyFiles paperwork, medical records, and correspondence according to defined company procedureArranges outside referrals as neededArchive patient chartsOther duties as assigned by doctors and/or managementThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Qualifications Education Level: High School Diploma or GEDJob-Related Experience
Customarily has at least one year of office administrative experience, preferably in a medical environment, to include leadership/supervisory experienceStrong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is preferredMust be bilingual in English and SpanishJob-Related Skills/Competencies
