Weston Hospital’s Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) provides care to patients who require a higher level of support than routine, yet not to the degree of intensity of critical care. You will be part of a supportive caregiver family that will be united in shared values and purpose to fulfill our promise of being the best place to receive care and the best place to work in healthcare.
A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM — 7:30AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Attend to patient and family's immediate needs and problems by acknowledging and providing required attention. Assist the patient with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing and hygiene needs. Report all pertinent information regarding patient's condition to the appropriate nursing staff. Assist in providing patients with nutritional needs as per physician order. Interact with the Food and Nutrition Services to maintain an adequate supply of nourishment for the patients. Provide patients with hygiene, nutritional needs, ambulation, toileting and linen changes. Restock necessary supplies on a daily basis and as needed. Maintain orderliness and appearance of the unit by keeping work area clean and tidy. Order supplies from Central Supply to keep the par levels with an acceptable range. Transport patients on stretchers and beds in accordance with required safety guidelines. Document care provided on the medical record as appropriate. Interact with the Environmental Department to ensure an adequate supply of clean linen or daily patient care. Collect and transport specimens as directed and in accordance with hospital policy. Provide RN/LPN with accurate and timely intake/output data, vital signs, blood glucose results and other data as assigned. Respond to call lights within a maximum of FIVE minutes or communicate inability to do so to assure the response target is met. Report patient needs to RN/LPN immediately.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within new hire periodPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
