As a PCNA on this team, you will coordinate with fellow caregivers to create a welcoming, healing and warm environment for patients. In this role, you have an excellent opportunity to start your nursing career and work in a supportive and caring healthcare setting. **A caregiver in this position works days from 11:00 a.m. -- 11:30 p.m. with every other weekend and 3 holidays per year** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Prepare units, patient rooms and patient beds for receiving patient admission, returning surgical patients, transfer or emergencies. + Provide and document assigned care, such as bathing, changing/refreshing bed linens, dressing/undressing, feeding, etc. + Take and document the patient's temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, weight and height. + Perform treatment procedures, such as venous blood draws, enemas, application of ice and heat packs, non-sterile compresses, skin preps, setting up oxygen equipment, bed scale weights, setting up overhead trapeze and Buck's traction. + Assist with pre-operative and post-operative care, such as turning and positioning patients with proper body mechanics, applying/utilizing special equipment and ambulating the patient as directed in a safe, prescribed manner. + Assist and accompany patients during admission, transfer and discharge. + Perform hourly safety rounds, anticipate patient needs and respond to patient call lights promptly. + Document patient care in the electronic medical record. + Complete ongoing competency requirements, education programs and mandatory training to maintain certification and/or licensure. + Prepare patients for meals, assists in feeding patients if necessary and distribute water and other nourishments according to patient needs in compliance with physician orders. + Collect, properly label and transport specimens to proper area in timely manner. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + A high school diploma or GED + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within new hire period + Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered + Basic computer knowledge and skills Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) + One year of recent acute care experience Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
