**Harborview Medical Center's Neurosciences Clinic- Surgery** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Full-Time Days** **Patient Care Coordinator.**
**WORK SCHEDULE**
+ Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)
+ Day Shift
+ Monday- Friday 730am-500pm

**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
• Serve as the primary liaison for patients and physicians regarding surgical coordination, ordering diagnostic studies, and admission process and provides information and advice regarding Harborview Medical Center services
• Coordinate inpatient and outpatient care by scheduling surgery, arranging diagnostic procedures and/or coordination requests for consultation among other medical specialties.
• Coordinate and schedule pre-admission tests, pre-surgery appointments/tests, procedures and complex imaging
• Maintain surgery schedules for assigned surgeons and coordinates schedule with Anesthesia, Admitting, and the Operating Room
• Coordinate communication between patient, surgeons, and both internal and external providers
• Complete appropriate documentation for planned admissions and surgeries and communicate with health care team members regarding the status and/or completion of care coordination activities
• Ensure complete and accurate registration, including patient demographic and insurance referral information are in the computer system
• Coordinate with the Financial clearance Unit/ Patient Access Center for verification of benefits and authorization for outpatient visits, inpatient stays and/or surgical procedures
• Ensure that EPIC referral work queues are addressed in a timely manner under the direction of the clinic leadership team
**REQUIREMENTS**
+ · A bachelor’s degree in a medically related or public relations field,
+ · And two (2) years' experience in a tertiary patient care setting involving interaction with a variety of medical services, contact with patients and families, interaction with physicians, and proficiency in medical terminology.

+ · Equivalent education/experience
