Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Director of Patient Financial Services, the Patient Access Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Admissions, Pre-Registration, Insurance Verification, ER Registration, and Scheduling. Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Training and Experience: Five to seven years of office management and hospital experience, two to three years in supervisory position. Job Knowledge: Must be able to direct, control and supervise the activities of the Admissions Department. Familiarity with data processing and procedures. Must be able to coordinate the activities of numerous subordinates. Must be able to schedule, meet and maintain daily and monthly routines, assign personnel and maintain integrity of records. Must have oral and written communications ability. Must possess analytical and problem solving skills as well as the ability to work and communicate effectively with other department supervisors and management. Must be of sound character. Must have 2 years of Cerner Millennium experience.
