Description We are looking for a Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Plainwell, Michigan. This is a Contract position requiring onsite work at a hospital emergency department during day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, 3 days per week. In this role, you will provide vital support in patient registration and intake processes, ensuring accuracy and excellent customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Responsibilities: • Facilitate patient registration and intake processes with precision and professionalism. • Verify and update patient information in electronic health records (EHR) systems, including Allscripts and Epic EMR. • Respond to inquiries and provide assistance via multi-line phone systems. • Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely authorizations and benefit verifications. • Maintain accurate and high-volume data entry for billing and administrative functions. • Uphold compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations, including vaccination requirements. • Deliver exceptional customer service in a dynamic emergency department setting. • Proactively address issues and work independently to resolve challenges. • Support the emergency department team with administrative tasks as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in patient registration or intake processes. • Familiarity with healthcare administration and EHR systems such as Epic EMR and Allscripts. • Strong customer service skills and ability to handle inquiries professionally. • High school diploma or equivalent, with proof of graduation required. • Attention to detail and proficiency in high-volume data entry. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take initiative independently. • Completion of required vaccinations and healthcare screenings, including TB and Hep B. • Successful clearance of background checks and drug testing protocols.
