Description We are looking for a dedicated Patient Access Specialist to join our team in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering a dynamic opportunity for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional service in a healthcare setting. The role requires flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to supporting patients through their registration and intake processes. Responsibilities: • Assist patients with registration processes for emergency, inpatient, and outpatient services, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. • Provide guidance and support to patients in using technology during the registration process. • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns in a detail-oriented manner. • Perform accurate data entry to maintain up-to-date patient records and documentation. • Rotate between Madison Heights and Macomb campuses as needed to meet departmental requirements. • Work assigned shifts, including midnight hours, with flexibility for rotating weekends, holidays, and fluctuating weekday schedules. • Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, including COVID-19 vaccination, flu shots, and occupational health screenings. • Handle additional tasks as assigned to support the needs of the department. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role; healthcare experience is highly preferred. • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals. • Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. • High level of reliability and a proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities. • Ability to work flexible hours, including midnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have a current flu shot. • Willingness to travel between multiple locations as needed. • Strong initiative and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
