As a Patient Access Representative, your responsibility is to deliver an exceptional experience to patients, families, and visitors from the moment they arrive until the time they return home. You will assist with registration, information gathering, payment collection, and insurance verification. This position will cover registration for the ED, including collecting demographics and insurance information, collecting co-pays, and handling other administrative tasks. This role is a great steppingstone to others within Customer Service and various departments within Cleveland Clinic. **A caregiver in this role works evenings from 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. with weekend and holiday requirements.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical and financial. + Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED and cash register. + Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers. + Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic. + May rotate to different locations/hospitals based on staffing needs. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma OR GED **and** two years of experience in a customer-facing role with in person or phone contact + **OR** an Associate's Degree **and** one year of experience + **OR** a Bachelor's Degree + Knowledge of medical terminology **OR** completion of course within year of hire + Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Healthcare experience **Physical Requirements:** + Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. + Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods. + Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment. + In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system. + In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Salaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
