Caregivers in the Emergency Department provide top-quality care to all patient populations, ranging from infants to geriatrics, and ensure that each patient's visit is as comfortable and stress-free as possible. **A caregiver in this position works 11:00 p.m. -- 7:30 a.m. with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical and financial. + Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED and cash register. + Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers. + Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma or GED **and** two years of experience in a customer facing role + **OR** an Associate's degree **and** one year of experience + **OR** a Bachelor's degree + Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders or completion of course within one year + Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems **Physical Requirements:** + Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. + Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods. + Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment. + In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system. + In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Minimum hourly: $15.75 Maximum hourly: $21.65 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
