Patient Access Representatives deliver what matters most to our patients and their families, ensure exceptional experiences and thrive on making positive impacts in the community. As a Patient Access Representative, you will pre-register and greet patients in the Emergency Department, verify information and collect copays for diagnostic services and pre-register patients for outpatient services. Your role is essential to ensuring a seamless model of access for patients, physicians and family members and setting the tone for how their visit to the Emergency Department goes. **A caregiver in this position works evenings from 3:00PM - 11:00PM, including every other weekend.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Perform registration and complete an accurate face-to-face interview to obtain demographic, insurance, medical and financial information. + Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED and cash register. + Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers. + Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in a customer facing role with in person or phone contact + **OR** an Associate's Degree and one year of experience + **OR** a Bachelor's Degree + Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders OR completion of course within one year + Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + EPIC knowledge **Physical Requirements:** + Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. + Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods. + Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment. + In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system. + In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Salaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
