The Patient Access Representative in our Emergency Department is a critical member of the patient care team at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell. As the first point of contact for patients and families during high-stress situations, you will play a vital role in ensuring a professional, compassionate, and efficient registration experience.
This full-time, night-shift position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, remain calm under pressure, and demonstrate exceptional customer service while supporting the clinical team and patients in our Emergency Department.
Schedule Details
Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Shift: Night shift
Hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 pm – 7:00 am
Location: Logan Health Medical Center, Kalispell
Key Responsibilities
Perform standard Patient Access Registration functions
Check in patients upon arrival to the Emergency Department
Collect and verify demographic information and insurance coverage
Ensure accurate and timely data entry
Provide compassionate, professional service in potentially high-stress or emotionally intense situations
May be assigned to work in other areas of the hospital as needed
Work Environment:
Overnight shifts required
Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Emergency Room setting with unpredictable patient volumes
Fast-paced and emotionally intense; must be comfortable handling trauma, injuries and strong odors
Qualifications
Required
Proven dependability, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality.
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, empathetic demeanor.
Ability to remain calm, resilient, and solution-oriented in high-pressure or stressful situations.
Skilled in multitasking, accurate data entry, and adapting quickly to changing priorities.
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong teamwork.
Reliable attendance and punctuality, with flexibility to cover weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
Proficiency with computers, email, and office equipment.
Preferred
Prior experience in a fast-paced, patient-facing role (Emergency Department or healthcare setting strongly valued).
Familiarity with patient registration systems (e.g., Meditech, Epic, Cerner, or similar).
Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Bilingual skills.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
