As a Patient Access Coordinator at Richard E. Jacobs Health Center, you will organize and coordinate the activities and flow of work for the patient access area. You’ll be supported as you enhance your customer service skills and advance your career as this position offers tuition reimbursement, growth opportunities and a collaborative, supportive and respectful work environment.

A caregiver in this role works days from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with evening and weekend requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Organize and coordinate the activities and flow of work for the patient access area. 

Assign tasks, monitor performance and assist in training patient service representative. 

Screen candidates, recommend hires, conduct performance appraisals and recommend corrective counseling. 

Develop, implement, and oversee programs to improve appointment utilization such as the reminder and follow-up on no-show/cancellation program. 

Coordinate activities and resolve operational problems. 

Adjust employees, patients, and physicians' schedules to respond to operational problems. 

Control and audit the reconciliation of day sheets including adjusting statistics in the computer data bank. 

Produce reports as needed. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

High School Diploma or GED 

Two years Cleveland Clinic outpatient scheduling experience or other equivalent position, which includes interacting with patients, physicians and other departments on a problem resolution basis OR three years external outpatient scheduling experience where demonstrated experience includes resolving patient scheduling and the coordination of the work of others 

Associate Degree may substitute for one year of required experience OR Bachelor's Degree may substitute for the experience requirement

Physical Requirements:

Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking. Normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech. Occasional lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds.
