Pathologist Assistant, PRN

Job Summary 

Responsible for accessioning and processing of anatomic pathology specimens, and instrument operation and maintenance. May provide assistance with specialty specimen collection. 

Essential Functions

Organizes, retrieves, and re-files pathology slide and block inventoryReceives and accessions pathology samplesReceives and return external pathology material to outside institutionsLogs receipt and delivery of inventoryPerforms other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

1-2 years experience in anatomic pathology or clinical laboratory preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work independentlyKnowledge of medical and surgical terminology.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
