Patent Attorney (m/f/d)

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing the IP portfolio associated with innovative products developed at Hikma Croatia and Hikma USA, providing freedom to operate analyses, and assisting the legal team with IP and litigation support. More broadly, Hikma offers an exciting opportunity to contribute meaningfully and grow continuously.

 

Key responsibilities:

freedom to operate analysis, including patent landscapes for new products (search databases, review patents/applications) develop non-infringement/invalidity strategy for new projects including paragraph IV projects for US, in collaboration with the project team arrange IP workshops to discuss and identify inventions draft new patent applications, follow prosecution internationally, draft responses to Office Actions, and supervise outside counsel in the prosecution of patent applications prepare Third Party Observations/oppositions where and when applicable proactively participate in R&D projects; new products and improvement projects work with external partners, lawyers and Patent Attorneys responsible for our patent portfolio handling system and all communication with the supplier of the system education in IP/patents of other parts of the organization and building e-learning courses within the patent area work with the North America and MENA IP and Legal teams to support IP analyses and litigation in those jurisdictions assist with due diligence activities assist with other IP and legal matters as requested

What we expect:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Chemistry/Pharmaceuticals/Food&biotechnology significant experience in IP, primarily patents preferend is experience in pharmaceutical industry; appointment as a patent attorney in Croatia/EPO attention to details communication and negotiation skills active use of English, both verbal and written form good written expression accountability and independence in work collaboration with local and remote teams
