Job Description:

Location: Providence, Rhode Island

CoWorx Staffing Services is now hiring a Pastry Prep Worker in the Providence, RI area! The pastry team is responsible for the making and preparing of our pastry, cracker and viennoiserie items which includes scooping muffins, cookies, brownies and other assorted pastry items, sheeting and cutting scones, cookies and pie doughs using a sheeter, assembling tarts, turnovers, crackers and quiches as well as aiding in the assembly of our sandwiches, salads. You will also be responsible for hand shaping viennoiserie and aiding in lamination and processing of our crackers.

Responsibilities:

Scoop muffins, brownies, and tarts using a scale to ensure proper weights are maintained.
Use the sheeter to roll out pie dough, tart shells, scones, cookies, and crackers.
Use the sheeter for lamination of croissant doughs.
Ensure weights are within correct amounts for consistency and uniformity.
Process mini cookies with the formatic machine; ensure they are baked, cooled, and bagged according to SSB standards.
Assist in the production of sandwiches and salads.
Make turnovers and other seasonal items as needed.
Label and date all products for organization and freezer accessibility.
Rotate product in coolers, freezers, and storage areas so older product is utilized first.
Clean sheeter and prep area when tasks are completed.
Maintain a neat and clean production kitchen; ensure all end-of-day protocols are followed to meet local BOH sanitary standards.
Inform a manager or supervisor immediately if issues arise with products.

Desired Background/Skills:

Independent, hard worker.
Strong, energetic, and self-motivated.
Previous kitchen experience preferred.
Knowledge of proper sanitation practices.
Basic math skills.
Able to read and understand English (for recipes and production sheets).
Neat and organized.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
