Our Bakeshop at the Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa supports our hotel banquet special events and award-winning fine dining restaurant, Napa Rose. Our Central Bakery is a 10,000 sq ft free standing, multifaceted, high production facility that produces all desserts and pastries for our two theme parks, the Disneyland Hotel, and Park Banquets/Festivals team.

Hourly Pastry opportunities may include:
Full Time Pastry Chef/Head BakerPart Time Pastry Line/Dinner Cook Responsibilities: All Pastry TeamsPrepare products according to recipe guidelinesUphold kitchen safety and sanitation, including temperature requirementsHas good judgment of food quality and production, understand the impact of spoilageAbility to assist Chef in preparing items for Guests with special dietary needsOperate tools, measurements, ingredients, equipment, small wares, and cooking required for a bakeryClean kitchen equipment and practice HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) proceduresPastry Chef/Head Baker
Create and design specialty desserts and show piecesLead cake decorating for weddings and special eventsCall Guests and Event Planners to discuss custom cake designsGCH Bakeshop only: Act as food stylist for work with banquets and specialty restaurantsAble to present and discuss specialty pastry/cake designs with Banquet Event ClientsRole model technical skills required for baker/pastry culinary productionPastry Line/Dinner Cook
Formulate and prepare complex recipes, including baker/pastry recipes and high-end specialty desserts for Banquets and Fine-Dining restaurantsMay assist Pastry Chef/Head Baker with cake decorating Basic Qualifications: You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for these rolesPassion for Pastry & Baking and delighting our Guests with food for an unforgettable Disney culinary experience! Strong experience with cakes, plated desserts, and working in a banquet and restaurant environmentMinimum of 2 years of experience in culinary field/restaurants, or culinary degree and equivalent experience with a focus on high-volume productionKnowledge of culinary techniques and terminologyAbility to follow and understand recipes in a mass volume environmentStrong organizational skills, working with speed accuracy, and efficiency in the kitchen to multi-task and work in a high-volume environmentStrong listening skills and ability to take directionStrong piping skillsDemonstrate a desire to provide excellent guest service and be part of a teamMust be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events Preferred Qualifications: Experience making mousse, pate-a-choux, and French macaronsExperience plating fine dining dessertsExperience with detailed cake decorating and show piecesCompleted culinary education program or equivalent leadership experienceBilingual Additional Information: SCHEDULE AVAILABILITYOur Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am.
