The iconic Waldorf Astoria property in New Orleans, The Roosevelt, is seeking a Full-Time Pastry Cook to join the team!
A Pastry Cook is responsible for preparing and executing pastry and dessert items to support an excellent Guest and Member experience, while maintaining quality, consistency, and food safety standards.
What will I be doing?
As a Pastry Cook, you will work under the direction of the Pastry Chef, Executive Chef, and Sous Chef to support daily pastry operations. You will assist with production, preparation, and presentation of desserts and baked goods while ensuring all items meet established quality and safety standards. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
· Prepare and execute pastry and dessert items according to recipes and standards
· Assist with daily production to meet service and event requirements
· Maintain consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all dessert offerings
· Support the setup, organization, and cleanliness of the pastry station
· Follow proper food handling, hygiene, and safety procedures at all times
· Assist with seasonal and menu offerings as directed
· Properly store, label, and rotate ingredients to ensure freshness
· Collaborate with the culinary team to support overall kitchen operations
