Job description

We are seeking a creative and passionate pastry chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods while ensuring consistency, presentation, and adherence to hygiene and safety standards. This role requires innovation, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and produce a wide variety of pastries, desserts, and bakery items. Design and develop new dessert menus and seasonal specials in collaboration with the executive chef. Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and quality. Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of ingredients. Monitor food cost, portion control, and minimize wastage. Supervise and train pastry team members, providing guidance and motivation. Ensure kitchen hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards are strictly followed. Stay updated with pastry trends, techniques, and innovations to enhance menu offerings. Collaborate with banquet and restaurant teams to customize dessert menus for special events. Qualifications & skills: Proven experience as a pastry chef or in a similar role in a hotel or resort. Formal culinary/pastry training or equivalent certification. Strong creative and artistic skills in pastry and dessert presentation. In-depth knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards. Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
