Kibali Gold Mine is seeking to recruit an Paste and Construction Leading Hand to join and grow our team. The Leading Hand will be responsible for paste filling and construction activities underground

Responsibilities 

The role will require working underground. Train and develop skills of national employees Provide feedback to Paste and construction Foreman to enable improvements to the paste and construction system Takes responsibility for personal development and enhancement of skills. Proactively ensures involvement within the area of responsibility and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives Provide contribution in a safe and costs-effective manner to achieve targets in accordance with mine safety standards, policies and procedures and ensure daily targets are met. Provide a high level of experience and knowledge in training to other crew members Be practical-minded and work with hands-on approach coupled with excellent communication and people skills Providing reports on works completed Assisting with co-ordination, management and scheduling of activities to ensure that equipment and resources are efficiently utilized to meet production outcomes Coordinating tasks and ensuring adherence to safe work method statements and risk assessments Construction of underground backfill systems Underground Paste barricade, and application of shotcrete and concrete placement as well as construction of vent seals, bulkheads and stop block installation Responsible for underground Paste pipes, piping loops, support system, and other services for paste fill infrastructure. Ability to conduct Job Safety Analysis for designated tasks, equipment’s and other assignments under supervision Communicate and coordinate with Engineering and Production departments to ensure that paste filling design, schedules and other mining production services systems in an effective manner. Demonstrate high level of Safe Work Practices and team culture at the workplace Work in compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 Standards.

Qualification requirements and Experience and competencies needed

More than 3- Years’ Experience in Large scale underground Mining Construction/ Backfill/Operations. Strong Experience on Paste fill Reticulation installation and Maintenance Team leadership Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment skills Emergency Preparedness Communication Skills- Fluent In English Time management, scheduling and planning shiftwork work efficiently  Transferring skills to mine trainee and Coaching locals Able to work in exposure to extreme temperatures, wind, precipitation, in addition to working at heights. Good written and verbal communication skills and computer literate with the ability to utilize online forms Must possess the ability to self-supervise on daily tasks and metrics. Ability to work with a team and standalone for multiple hours. Promotes ethical behavior in all aspects of the business and leads by example. Must be medically fit and be in possession of a light vehicle driving license and able to obtain a mine site light vehicle driving license.  Strong Creative and skills in Fabrication and Metal works Sound experience on mine dewatering, mine water pressure reducing stations.
