Job Summary
This is an opportunity to enhance Search, Track Acquire, Radiate, Eliminate (STARE) weapon systems reliability and lower US Government cost of ownership through the discipline of Parts, Materials, and Processes engineering. The individual will work with the very latest technologies in the microcircuits and electronics manufacturing field. The individual will support oversight into vendor parts, materials, and process selection with the focus on achieving the highest reliability at the lowest cost. The candidate must be inquisitive, self-starting, driven, and detail oriented. The individual must be able to work with others in a team environment and communicate well both orally and in writing. This is truly a cutting-edge technology position offering rewarding opportunities for the inquisitive minded.
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide expertise in electronic parts, materials and processes engineeringProvide expertise in electronic parts quality and reliabilityInterface with government, industry, and academia to advance component engineering knowledge, practices, and standardizationDuties will include the following activities
Quality and reliability component application studies, electronic parts and circuit tolerance analysis, environmental stress analysis, part quality and reliability verification and analysis, failure analysis studies and corrective action development, development of part testing requirements, part and assembly problem investigations, and development of failure rate prediction for a broad spectrum of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical part and assembly categoriesThe duties will also include collaboration within the DoD, other government agencies, industry, and academia to establish cooperative programs for electronics that address performance, reliability, and quality, and establish and maintain standards, specifications, and practices that affect radar electronicsBasic Qualifications
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Security ClearanceThe work requires a background in electrical, electronics, mechanical, and/or industrial engineering, and a broad knowledge of engineering and science applicable to electronics packaging and assembly technologyRequires 7-10 years’ experienceMust be able to travelPreferred Qualifications
